GUITAR AID’S 3,000TH INSTRUMENT
As the numbers clicked closer to the 3,000th instrument, we decided that the most fitting place to present it was Campfest Slovakia. We reached the exact figure on the week of the event. What we didn’t know was that they had a surprise for us. As we handed over the instrument, the stage started to fill with many young people that had received guitars from us. What happened next was an extreme honour, to be given a “King David of the 21st Century T shirt, signed by many that had received from Guitar Aid. It also had the bible verse referring to King David’s 4,000 instruments. This has inspired us, that we still have further to go in our giving and ministry, look out for the 4,000th instrument!
AOG West Africa Missions Forum
Earlier this year I attended an AOG West
Africa Missions forum. What a privilege to
be able to give the visitors guitars to take
back home. I am really pleased that at
this year’s conference, I was given the
position of Associate Missionary with
AOG UK. It means a lot to me to be part
of such a great Missions team. The
recognition is very much appreciated.
iBelieve magazine feature
A four page feature in iBelieve magazine, really told the Guitar Aid story exactly as it is. I have had the feature reprinted, so you can now read about how it all started, and what God is doing through our ministry. Our story has also featured in other Christian magazines.
BELARUS
We started off our missions this year with a trip to Belarus. We were inspired and encouraged by the enthusiasm of the youth there. It’s not easy being a Christian in this country, but faith triumphs over any
opposition. My wife Liz and I went on holiday to PORTUGAL. Through a friend there, we found out who needed guitars. What a joy to spend the Sunday
of our holiday, visiting, giving and sharing in churches in the Algarve.
HUNGARY, SERBIA & MACEDONIA
Our end of year mission started in Hungary, where we responded to their need of instruments. We were particularly encouraged to see the interest shown by
Gypsy communities in the things of God. They couldn’t hold back their excitement as we shared and sang with them. We then travelled on to Serbia. For quite some time, the church leaders have been asking for us to return. Serbia is very much on our hearts. There is an expectancy in the churches and a vibrant atmosphere. We feel blessed to be able to sow into this situation, giving guitars and encouraging them to start up new worship bands, It is great to see young musicians released into a new ministry. We ended our trip in Macedonia, where we met up with church leaders, sharing our vision for missions and hear about their passion for church planting. Finally, I would like to encourage you to visit our website guitar-aid.com – check out the Testimonial page. Recently we received the testimony of Jude from Kenya, what a story, what an encouragement! Thank you for your continued support.
